Thinking of making an offer on something that the FP guy being forced to sell his stash has.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I think if I can get it for ~$400 I would do it. The body looks in really good shape for a salt belt vehicle. Do you think it’s hiding much worse behind the surface? Or being 2wd did it not get driven much in the winter, thus preserving its body?

What do you think oppo...good idea or great idea? (It would be a long day to go get it though as I am ~6 hours from Ann Arbor)

Everything I’ve read indicates that even now he’s very firm on his prices, so I wouldn’t expect to get him off $800.

Not necessarily. If he had snow tires, he could have driven it in the snow.

I’m driving my mini to the upper peninsula in the next 2 weeks.

People don’t care about snow in MI

I mean, if he’s going to scrap it how much is he going to get for it? $200?

I know lots of people drive 2wd trucks in the winter up here, just less so than if they are 4wd. Just seems in too good of shape to have been regularly driven in the winter for that era truck

I didn’t get a very good look at that one while I was there a few months ago. You couldn’t even open the hood with all that brush in the way. Here’s a pic that David took of it:

It’s doesn’t look like it’s moved since then, but at least it’s a lot more accessible now. I’m surprised someone hasn’t snatched it up by now.

If that, but that’s not the point. He knows it’s worth $800, and that’s that.

Skyfire is right, I’ve read the same things. This guy thinks his shit is made of gold.

That seems like a long ways to go for a rusty truck, and a lot of money for something that doesn’t run. It looks like it will take some work just getting it out of the hole in the ground it is sitting in..

Really though, 800 isn’t much for a vehicle. I’ve seen a lot in far worse shape with higher asking prices.

That’s true. I’m still apprehensive about it. Does the guy claim that it has not been driven in the snow?

You need to do this.

I kinda prefer the regular cab flareside he has.

That’s too bad. I’ll make him an offer and leave it open if he changes his mind I guess

For a running vehicle sure, but it’s been sitting for a couple years and “ran when parked”

For $800, yeah I agree, for $400 I don’t mind taking a weekend and possibly getting a decent vehicle out of it

That makes me sad... So many good vehicles parked for years for no reason

If he comes down I think I will, but from other people’s comments sounds like he won’t budge on price

I can’t imagine being parked off pavement and sinking into the mud for years has done wonders for the floors.

Probably not.I’d have a hard time saying no though at $400 if he comes down that far

Step 1: open driver’s side door (if present)

Step 2: replace car
